While the legendary Anderson Silva makes his final walk to the UFC Octagon, a young and talented bantamweight prospect will make his first.

Texas’ own Adrian Yanez is set to make his UFC debut upon the promotions return to the UFC Apex in Sin City.

Yanez (11-3), made his presence felt on Dana White’s Contender Series after showcasing some high-level boxing skills and knocking out Brady Huang 39 seconds in to the first round of their all or nothing scrap.

Afterward, an emotional Yanez dedicated the victory to his late father Andy, who passed away in 2016 after his courageous battle with stage IV stomach cancer. Soon after, Yanez made good on his promise to his father and brought his newly signed UFC contract to his gravesite.

The 26 year old Metro Fight Club product will look to make it a scary night for his opposition when he takes on fellow newcomer Victor Rodriguez.

Fighting out of AK-49 Martial Arts in Soldotna, AK, Rodriguez looks to be the perfect dance partner to go toe to toe with a talented striker like Yanez as Rodriguez enters the bout following 4 straight victories, all by stoppage.

Although Yanez is just debuting, the performance on DWCS has garnered the attention of MMA fans around the world, and a stellar debut performance can be just what it takes to gain traction in one of the UFC’s deepest divisions.

His prediction for the fight? 1st round knockout.

His original opponent for the Halloween dance was Aaron Phillips who confirmed to MMA Island that he suffered a foot injury due to a staph infection and was out of the originally scheduled bout.
