ONE Heavyweight champion Arjan Bhullar sat with MMA Island’s Chris De Santiago. During the course of the interview, the Indian-Canadian champion responded to Reiner De Ridder’s call out.

Bhullar was quick to dismiss Ridder and his skills, both on the feet and on the ground. He did not seem to be too impressed with Ridder’s win over Aung La Sang either. Dubbing his grappling and his striking as “garbage”, Ridder stated that he would much rather move down in weight to fight for Ridder’s belt.

“Uh, first of all, stay in your lane, young man. I’m not Aung La N Sang. Let’s get that straight right now. You’re not going to run across a cage try to shoot those garbage takedowns on me, keep me down with that garbage grappling or close the distance with that garbage striking. None of that is impressive to me. He’s not about to make a name off of me. If anything, I’ll go down and I’ll take his belt.”

Bhullar also spoke about potential match ups in ONE in the future. He seemed to be particularly interested in Kang Ji Won, although he seemed to be willing to wait till the division sorted itself out too.

“I’ve got to let these guys fight a few times and shake things out, see who has got momentum. I called out Kang Ji Won, cause he’s got a little bit of momentum. Uh, but aside from that, him or anybody else, they can all get it. They gotta just get momentum and get some wins together to separate themselves from the rest.”

As Bhullar makes abundantly clear, he is willing to fight anyone credible enough to get a title shot.
