Brian Ortega took a very interesting turn this morning when he showed up for the weigh-ins today. He has been cutting weight all week long, and with his weight… went his hair.

Many, like myself, would assume that “T-City” cut his illustrious mane to make the weight limit of 146 pounds, however this was not the case.

The updated, bald Ortega took to social media to deny claims that he shaved his head because of weight cutting complications. His manager, Tiki Ghosn previously stated that this move was solely for charity purposes regarding ‘Locks of Love,’ a charity for children going through Chemotherapy.

“And I’m saying it here as well!” said Ortega. “I don’t need to cut my hair to make weight, never in my life missed weight.”

Make weight, he did. The former UFC title challenger hit the scales at the featherweight limit of 146 pounds.

With a new look, the Torrance native aims to get his first win in over 2 years in a highly touted grudge match with ‘The Korean Zombie,’ Chan Sung Jung, in the main event of UFC Fight Night 180 on Yas Island. The matchup has been deemed as a title eliminator by UFC president, Dana White.

Although the main eventer may have lost his mane, he has definitely earned the respect of many despite what his fight outcome may be.
