Dean Barry had a day that most would dream of today, becoming a father and fulfilling a lifelong dream by signing a multi-fight deal with the UFC, becoming the third Irishman on the current roster alongside Conor McGregor and Rhys McKee.
Barry, who currently holds a 3-1 pro record including a ferocious first round KO over Abdulla Al Bousheiri in the UAE, took to Instagram to share the news with his followers. He called himself ‘the luckiest man in the whole world becoming a father and joining the UFC.’
‘The Sniper’ who trains out of SBG Charlestown under Coach Owen Roddy, is a highly decorated kickboxer, winning multiple championships on the Irish, European and World stage. It has been a seamless transition to the MMA world for him, as he has been noticed by the premier MMA organization after only turning professional in 2017. It is clear he has the skills to compete at the top if the UFC are chasing his signature this early into his career.
It is unclear when Barry will make his debut, however expect fireworks when it does happen. Make sure to keep your eye out for this spectacular knockout artist when he bursts onto the UFC scene.
