After the biggest UFC pay-per-view of the year thus far, the promotion returned to the UFC Apex for a very entertaining fight night with lots of action and finishes. We saw a returning female MMA legend victorious as well as a lightweight contender continue his dominance. There were four TKOs, three submissions, and two decisions.

Here are fights to make for the winners and losers after UFC on ESPN: Makhachev vs. Moisés.

Islam Makhachev

In his first UFC main event, Makhachev submitted Thiago Moisés in the fourth round. Makhachev continues his dominance and is riding an eight-fight win streak. It’s only a matter of time before Makhachev gets a top five opponent. In his post-fight interview, he called out Rafael Dos Anjos, which is a great fight and they were booked last year. HOWEVER, I desperately want him to fight Gregor Gillespie and I will keep saying it until it happens. Please, can we see this high level wrestling????? Please.

Miesha Tate

Welcome back to the UFC Miesha ‘Cupcake’ Tate!!! It is so great to have you back. She retired Marion Reneau by defeating her via third round TKO. I honestly can’t believe I’m writing a matchmaking article including Tate but here I am. She will be taking Reneau’s No. 12 ranking come Tuesday, so what’s next? There are several options, it just depends how fast the UFC wants to rush her back to Amanda Nunes. Tate vs. Holly Holm II would be great and would sell the most, but I think Tate should fight No. 6 ranked Yana Kunitskaya, who just lost to Irene Aldana last week. The loser of next week’s Aspen Ladd vs. Macy Chiasson could work too.

Mateusz Gamrot

Gamrot demolished UFC veteran Jeremy Stephens in a little over a minute. Poland’s Gamrot is the real deal and a real threat in the ridiculously stacked lightweight division. His only professional which occurred in his UFC debut was very controversial. Gamrot is ready for a top 15 opponent. No. 15 ranked Arman Tsarukyan is who Gamrot should fight next.

Rodolfo Vieira

Vieira submitted Dustin Stoltzfus in the third round. What a bounce back win for Vieira who was completely embarrassed in his last fight. There were some clear improvements in his game, including his gas tank and striking. In his next fight, he should look to face Jun Yong Park, who is on a three-fight win streak and they also have a common loss to Anthony Hernandez.

Billy Quarantillo

BILLY Q!!!!! Quarantillo put on an absolute clinic against Gabriel Benítez and finished him in the third round. It was a great bounce back win for Billy Q who had his eight-fight win streak snapped in his last outing. He learned from that loss, got Lasik eye surgery and destroyed Benitez. In his post-fight interview, he called out Charles Rosa which would be an awesome fight, but I believe Quarantillo deserves a bigger name. A fight with Lando Vanata, who just made his featherweight debut in a win over Mike Grundy would be an absolute banger.

Daniel Rodriguez

Short notice opponent change? No problem. Rodriguez finished UFC newcomer Preston Parsons via TKO in the first round. ‘D-Rod’ is 5-1 in the UFC, and you can give a good argument that he should be 6-0. He was originally scheduled against Abubakar Nurmagomedov. To be honest, I think Rodriguez deserves a top 15 opponent, but I think the UFC will make him fight one person outside the rankings. And the one person should be Miguel Baeza, who is coming off his first professional loss.

Amanda Lemos

Lemos is for real. She finished Montserrat Ruiz in 35 seconds. The Brazilian has crazy power for strawweight and could totally be a future contender. Since losing her UFC debut Lemos has really looked sensational. She deserves a top 10 opponent in her next fight. Lemos came into the fight ranked No. 14 and she should fight No. 8 ranked Claudia Gadelha.

Sergey Morozov

Morozov defeated heavy hitter Khalid Taha, giving him his second consecutive loss. Morozov picked up his first UFC win after a rough UFC debut against a tough opponent. The former M-1 bantamweight champion has so many fun future matchups in sight. Hunter Azure, who is coming off a loss against Jack Shore would be a great next test for the Morozov.

Malcolm Gordon

Gordon defeated Francisco Figueiredo via unanimous decision to pick up his first UFC win. ‘Malcolm X’ had his back against the wall, fighting for his job and he showed up with something to prove. For his next fight, he should fight J.P. Buys, who will be looking for his first UFC win.

Rodrigo Nascimento

After rough first round, Nascimento fought back and finished Alan Baudot via TKO. The Brazilian is back in the win column after a 45 second knockout loss to Chris Daukaus. Nascimento is 1-1 in the UFC and is always improving at just 28-years old. In his post-fight interview following his fight, he called out Chase Sherman. I like that fight a lot. Sherman fights Parker Porter next month and if he wins, Nascimento should be next.
