UK MMA and Cage Warriors Veteran Brad “The Crazy Kid” Wheeler has publicly announced today he is considering retiring from the sport of MMA.

30-year-old Wheeler who is 18-13-0 in his MMA career last fought in March 2019, he scored a second-round KO over John Maguire at Cage Warriors 102.

Since then Brad has sat out on the sidelines nursing a knee injury that required surgery.

After recovering from his injury his next scheduled bout was pushed aside due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic. Now with it being two years since his last bout, The Crazy Kid has publicly stated that the Maguire fight may have been his last.

In a post on his Facebook page Wheeler released the following statement

“2009-2019 been sat on the sidelines for over 2 years, due to a knee injury followed by surgery. Just as things were getting back to normal the world pandemic hit cancelling my next scheduled fight. Everything is up in the air right now & with time not on my side it is possible the Maguire fight was my last.

“I’m not officially retiring, but I’ll have to wait & see how things play out,” Wheeler continued. “If this is the end of the road, I would like to thank everybody who played a part in my journey, who inspired me & helped me get to where I am today; to all my family, friends and fans who have continued to support me through all the ups & downs, thank you all #TheCrazyKid.”

Whilst Wheeler hasn’t confirmed his retirement, this doesn’t seem optimistic for the 175lb Londoner. Will this be the last time we see Brad Wheeler, or does he have another fight left?
