Heavyweight powerhouses Greg Hardy and Tai Tuivasa met in an insane bout at UFC 264. The fight ended in a knockout win for the Australian Tuivasa after a well-placed left hook in the first round.

The fight began with Tai repeatedly chopping down Hardy’s lead leg with hard kicks. The opening exchanges of the fight revolved around Tai trying to close the distance on a much larger Hardy. A minute into the fight, Hardy landed a right hand that had the Australian brawler hurt and wobbled. Looking for the kill, he rushed forward and threw a wild jab that left him open. Tai deftly weaved under the shot to create an opening on Hardy and threw a quick, short left hook that landed flush.

Hardy fell to the ground, completely out of it and a few quick ground n pound shots sealed the deal. The fight was called off, one minute and 7 seconds into the first round. The most insane part of the fight was the iconic celebration. Tai Jumped on top of the cage, grabbed a shoe and a can of beer and did what he does best, apart from putting people to sleep. A good old, nasty but jaw-dropping shoey, spilling the liquor all over himself.

A fired up Tai was grateful and appreciative of the returning Vegas crowd, after the fight.

“You know, he wanted to bang with me. I’m not the right guy to bang with, pick another bloke!”, said Tai.

Tai ended the interview by asking for a top 10 or a top 15 opponent next. He however, also said that he didn’t really care, all he wanted to do was put on a show. Tai ended up with the performance of the night award for his fight.
