Last weekends Fight Island in Abu Dhabi taught us many things. Brian Ortega’s new management team seemed to have paid off in a unanimous decision over Chang Sung Jung. We also saw that the move up in weight class for Jessica Andrade was a success ending her two fight losing streak, while also making her the first female UFC fighter to have three finishes in three different weight classes. We also witness a new UFC record shattered by Jun Yong Park in total ground strikes.

Though with many big wins the night had to offer, we see a number of heartbreaking losses and one big medical suspension. James Krause had an impressive win over Claudio Silva ending his 6 fight win streak, but midway through the fight Krause told his corner he may have “torn his knee”. This was due to a number of heavy leg strikes landed by Silva, one even making him buckle.

Fight Island has produced a number of classic fights and hopefully will continue to do so leading into next weeks Light Weight title fight between Khabib Nurmagomedov and Justin Gaethje. Hopefully the list of injuries will be minor.

Thanks to The Underground Fourm, we have the list of medical suspensions.
