Before closing out 2022 in Japan, Bellator 289 takes place in Uncasville, Connecticut. Atop the stacked card lies the headliner between Raufeon Stots and Danny Sabatello. The grudge match is set to be for the interim Bellator bantamweight title and also serves as a semi-final for the promotion’s World Grand Prix.

In the co-main event, Juliana Velasquez seeks revenge against current champ Liz Carmouche. Velasquez was dethroned by Carmouche in a controversial stoppage and the two run it back for flyweight gold.

Also on the card is another semi-final matchup between Patchy Mix and Magomed Magomedov. The bantamweights aren’t fighting for gold just yet, but the victor will get the next title shot against the winner of Stots vs. Sabatello.
