There’s been a shift in plans for Combat FC 3.

Charalampos Grigoriou was originally scheduled to fight Rico DiSciullo for the vacant bantamweight championship, however DiSciullo withdrew from the bout. Chris Disonell also lost his opponent Kris Moutinho and is now set to face Grigoriou for the belt, multiple sources told MMA Island.

“The title fight is on!” Grigoriou told MMA Island. “When my first opponent pulled out, I was like, ‘okay, I wanna fight with anybody’. I don’t care who he is but I wanna fight because I’m like, I’m in a fight camp three months now, man, three months. I’ve been training for five rounds… I had a very hard fight camp. [To] my manager, I said, ‘I have to fight, man’.

“I don’t care, but I have to fight. So, thank God, we found this Disonell guy and I think it’s a good matchup. I don’t have anything to worry about. It’s gonna be a fun night.”

Cyprus’ Grigoriou is coming off two straight knockouts against the likes of Joey Crisostomo Jr. and Efren Escareno. ‘The Ferocious’ looks to make it three in a row with a win over Disonell and punch his ticket to the UFC. Grigoriou says he’d love to debut at UFC 287 in April (should it be in his new home of NYC).

Recently, Disonell hasn’t had the best of luck getting a fight lined up. However, the sixth time just might be the charm as he is scheduled to return against Grigoriou.

‘Showbiz’ last fought at Bellator 274 where he was submitted by top prospect Jaylon Bates. The loss snapped a two-fight win streak for Disonell. He’ll try to get back on track in the main event of Combat FC 3.
