James Dunn is confident he’ll get the job done in his next fight.

The Chicago-native is set to return later this month at Titan FC 80 on Oct. 28. There in Miami, he will cross paths with the likes of Jonathan Ortiz in a bantamweight matchup.

‘He Doesn’t Know The Game Of MMA Better Than Me’

Ahead of the upcoming bout, Dunn doesn’t believe Ortiz will pose much problems to him anywhere the fight may go.

“Durable guy, very well-rounded, but there’s nothing in his game— there’s nothing threatening,” Dunn said of Ortiz, to MMA Island. “He’s not a better striker than me. He’s not a better grappler, not a better wrestler. He doesn’t know the game of MMA better than me. He is just like a tough guy that’s gonna stand in front of me and try to force my back up against the cage and walk me down. But, that’s the wrong thing to do with me.

“I’m looking forward to the fight. I know he’s gonna come to fight and he’ll be rudely interrupted of grace. It’s gonna be quite a show.”

Dunn Wants To Make A Statement

Already having gone through what he thinks Ortiz will bring to the table, Dunn would describe his own game and what you’ll see from him on Oct. 28th.

“I’m a wild man, but I don’t throw caution to the wind,” Dunn said of his style. “It’s calculated. I’m slipping, I’m bobbing and weaving, I’m moving. I’m cutting angles off my strikes as I come forward. I’m landing kicks, I’m landing first. I really set the pace and there’s not a lot of guys that could keep up with me pace-wise. Fight goes on, I get better. My stamina, endurance is through the roof.

“I focused more on cardio this camp, that’s just cause I wanna blow things out of the water. I want people to see exactly what I’m capable of. I’m just on a different level in MMA and October 28th, the fans will see that through intensity, through passion, through the wild man that I am. But, it’s calculated. When I strike, when I fight, it’s entertaining and it’s intense, but it’s beauty. It’s art coming to life right in front of the people.

“I’m an entertainer, I’m a fighter. I’m a prize fighter. I’m a businessman. I’m a coach. I’m a lot of things. I wear a lot of hats, but when I’m in there, none of that stuff matters. The only thing that matters is winning. I do that and have done that 100% of the time when I finish fights by having fun and letting it go. So that’s my game plan coming into October 28th is that I’m gonna make a statement. I’m gonna have fun and give everyone a show.

Official Prediction

Dunn firmly believes he’ll submit Jonathan Ortiz in the opening round.

“I’m looking to show out and put on a spectacular first round finish and really make a statement… first round submission.”
